1st year was a long year

so our 1st year of marriage was super awesome. It will also be known as the longest year of marriage ever… because it was a leap year. =) as of july 21, 366 days of marriage and forever counting…

hot 11-month anniversary

we mean “hot” in the warm sense. the car’s thermometer read 104 degrees on saturday. so that makes it our hottest anniversary ever.

the pool will be getting a lot of use very, very soon.

10 months

it’s our 10-month anniversary. we enjoyed the night by having a nice dinner together at our favorite restaurant and then we came home to watch the American idol finale. david cook won so that was a great way to end the night. it’s getting late now so I’ll write more tomorrow.

PS the word of the night was janky.

happy pi day!

leaping in 2008

i am glad that february 29 falls on our off-friday (no work). it just makes me feel better that i don’t have to be at work on the “extra” day of the year. yeah, i know it doesn’t work that way, but it’s a psychological thing. and if you don’t get it, phooey on you.

how to make a nerd drool

nice rack.

gamerz 4 life

if you went to our wedding, you know that we had a mini-LAN party during our reception. a few of our friends, spencer, and i played a car racing game against one another. (the person with the best racing time was of course yours truly. i am awesome. i know. no applause necessary. i know i’m awesome. =P) it looked like a lot of people enjoyed watching the racing, and it was really fun playing a video game at our wedding. gaming is one of our favorite hobbies so we wanted to show that to everyone at our wedding. we wanted to make it a very “spencer and trisha” wedding. we had to represent our nerdy side! gamers for life!

so… today i was reading some blogs and stumbled upon this. there was another couple who got to play a video game at their wedding reception except that they didn’t know about it. their friends knew they were such hard core gamers that they surprised them and wrote them a game for the xbox. holy crap! that’s so cool! it’s good to see other couples showing off their nerdy side together.

nerd couples rock!

6 months…

We hope everyone is having a fantastic 2008. We definitely are. It’s been a fun 6 months living under the same roof, and we’ve been doing the domesticated thing and have been working on the house: putting shelves up, moving furniture, redoing a bathroom, cleaning up a whole lot. It’s looking more and more organized. =)

And we have also managed to eat at a couple Mario Batali restaurants for some lip-smacking good food. If you are ever see his restaurant, you need to eat there. It is so good. So far, we’ve eaten at 4 of his restaurants and they are all so freaking amazing. Not a cheap place to eat, but it is definitely worth it. He has such a daunting menu, but whatever you order will be soooo good.

Well. That’s what we’ve been up to. We hope you’re having as much fun as we are. =)

2007 was an awesome year

2007 was pretty awesome. Among the highlights: Texas Land & Cattle, the living room redesign, Unreal Tournament III, Zion, UCLA in the Final Four again, discovering shirt.woot, getting addicted to mental_floss, podcasts, wicked, “sheremy’s” wedding, Giants game with the hubster and meanie, New England & Canada, getting “jumped” by amy in Brooklyn, hearing an elderly woman say “bj” on a cruise, holding a live lobster and also freezing on a boat in Halifax, Bar Harbor buttercrunch ice cream and then steamed mussels and lobster bake on my birthday, foie gras is gross, sandrine our tour guide in quebec, falling asleep on the bus and staying asleep longer than the older folks, the two couples we met from half moon bay, those awesome jackets the tour guides wore that said “saguenay” when we were on the fjord, c’est bon, the view that another tour guide took us to that pretty much sucked, naming pictures just like Thomas Hawk, popping the cork into the ocean, those crazy russian acrobats who balanced each other while the boat was rocking, that one boat in the fjord that was knocked down by the wind over and over and over again, late night snacking at the garden cafe and blue lagoon, babbo (caprese salad, pasta, pork chop, beef, sweet corn thingy, semifreddo), pizzeria mozza, iPhone, iPod touch, Ian McKellen as King Lear, learning to make cheesecake from billifer because of NY cheesecake, FLOR, Wii, Motor Kombat, Oakley HQ, Cousin John’s cheesecake, Juniors, Crocs everywhere, Thanksgiving with Rock Band, Christmas Eve with fireworks, and a whole lot more… and the best of 2007 was getting married to Spencer and having all our family and friends there to see us. that was one of the biggest and happiest days of our lives. what could possibly top that?

so, i say yay for 2007! rock on!… for another 30 minutes or so until 2008 is here. =)

Happy New Year, everyone!
